Wish You Were Here – South West Printmakers
South West Printmakers are happy to present their latest exhibition, entitled Wish You Were Here which will open at Bunbury Regional Art Galleries on Friday 6 November at 7pm. All are welcome to attend.
The exhibition consists of new print media works and the group’s annual print exchange which this year explores the format of the postcard.
“As a universally accepted form of communication, the postcard is bound in both friendship and the notion of space and place, this print share has undoubtedly been a journey in itself. Over the past few months, as each treasure has dropped unexpectedly into our lives, one cannot understate the joy and delight at receiving these individual postcards and their messages of humour and goodwill. We hope you will enjoy them as much as we have.” South West Printmakers 2009.
Bunbury Regional Art Galleries is situated at 64 Wittenoom Street, Bunbury and is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free. Wish You Were Here will run until 10 January 2010.

Low Toxic Etching with Peter Lowe – 2nd workshop
The first workshop has booked out, a second one has been organized on the 5 October.
Peter works in a variety of printmaking mediums and specialises in etching. He is currently working at the Art Gallery of WA. Learn the basics of etching and how to safely apply this technique in the classroom.
Areas covered include: image transfer, line work, aquatinting, soft ground, embossing, sugarlift,
etching process, printing
A full day workshop will be conducted during the school holidays.
Friday 9am – 4pm 5 October 2009.

Low Toxic Etching Workshop
Drypoint workshop in Ellenbrook
Vanessa Wallace (ECU printmaking lecturer) is running a short drypoint workshop on Saturday 5th September at the Grapevine Artspace in Ellenbrook. The times are from 2 to 5 pm, cost is $15 or $5 members (membership is $10…); all materials included. Just bring a drawing or photo as a starting point.
